Bujinkan
Bujinkan - the ancient art of the Ninja
What
is a "Ninja"?
What is "Ninja Training"?
From Grand
Master Masaaki Hatsumi at the Honbu Dojo in Japan flows
everything we
call "Ninja"
From
Honbu "Guidelines" (excerpt):
The
tradition recognizes nature and the universality of all human life, and
is aware of that which flows naturally between the two parts:
•"The secret
principle of Taijutsu is to know the foundations of peace.
•To
study is
the path to the immovable heart (fudoshin)."
Just
as
there are various time zones, so exist various taboos among the world's
peoples and nations. We must respect each other, striving to avoid such
taboos. We must put the heart of the warrior first, working together
for self-improvement and for the betterment of the organization.
This
IS the ancient art of the NINJA, also known as Bujinkan and sometimes also called Ninjutsu. Dr. Masaaki
Hatsumi is the current Soke, or Grand Master, of Bujinkan Budo
Taijutsu, a modern part of the ancient
Ninjutsu "Ninja" tradition. Hatsumi Soke was taught by Toshitsugu
Takamatsu who transferred holdership of the lineage to Hatsumi in
1958. The origin and importance of certain ancient scrolls of
the
Ryuha, ("The Nine Schools") that comprise his instruction were
passed down from traditional sources to ultimately be used in Hatsumi's
overall training. It is recorded since 1968 in the the Bugei Ryuha
Daijiten that Hatsumi Soke was under instruction of
Toshitsugu.
Dr. Hatsumi is current Grand Master (Soke) of each of the Nine Schools of the Bujinkan art.
